Egyptian Premier League side, Ghazl El-Mahalla, have announced the signing of Himid Mao and Paulin Voavy on free transfers.
Mao spent the last two years with Entag El-Harby and became an integral part of the team. However, following the team’s relegation, he, along with many other core players, was released by the military squad.
The 28-year-old Tanzania international will now join an ambitious Mahalla side, who after parting ways with head coach Khaled Eid, made 13 new signings and appointed Mohamed Ouda to be at the helm of the team.
Voavy suffered a similar fate as Mao, as he was let go by Misr El-Makkasa who opted not to renew his contract due to a massive decrease in his fitness level, especially during the last season.
The 33-year-old had joined Misr El-Makkasa in 2016, making 144 appearances with the club, in which he scored 18 goals and made 24 assists.
